Dr. Mangla Chouhan


A visionary leader and ardent believer in transforming mindsets, Dr. Mangla Chouhan dedicates her life to helping individuals discover their purpose and become their best selves. With a Doctorate in Management from B.K. School of Professional and Management Studies, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, she has a strong academic foundation. She also holds a B.Sc. and MBA (HRM) degree.
Being from a bureaucratic background, she mentors and motivates UPSC and GPSC (Civil Services) aspirants and has coordinated Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) at the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG), where professors from various IIMs served as resource persons. She has published numerous research papers in international journals and has actively participated in national and international conferences.

Research & Advocacy:

Dr. Chouhan’s research focuses on Public Policy and Management, rural development, and women’s grievances. She has conducted extensive studies in Kachchh, Gujarat—India’s largest district with 939 villages—analysing grievances in rural areas and advocating for their resolution.
She has attended various SWAGAT (State Wide Attention on Grievances by Application of Technology) programs in Kachchh and worked closely with the Gujarat Government’s Ratri Sabha initiative, where she observed that women were more comfortable raising their concerns after completing household duties at night.
Her insights have contributed to policy discussions on women’s empowerment and grassroots governance.
Dr. Chouhan is currently working on a book on the tribals of Chhota Udaipur district in Gujarat. She attended the 30th Tribal Mahotsav in Chhota Udaipur with the Member of Parliament of the district, reinforcing her commitment to tribal upliftment.

Entrepreneurial Journey:

Fuelled by her research experiences, Dr. Chouhan founded Midas Consultancy, which connects rural artisans across India with opportunities for economic independence and self-reliance. Through her leadership, she has empowered women engaged in handicrafts, handlooms, dairy businesses, and small-scale industries, helping them build sustainable livelihoods.

She has also played a vital role in organizing Women on Mission, a successful initiative celebrating women’s resilience and leadership.

International Recognition:

Dr. Chouhan has been recognized as one of the 200 rising powerful women leaders and entrepreneurs in India by a renowned Japanese institute in Fujisawa, Kanagawa, Japan. As a testament to her leadership, she was selected for an exclusive interview by Indo-Japan Lab.

Community & Environmental Work:

Dr. Chouhan is deeply committed to tribal empowerment and women’s development at the grassroots level. She has worked extensively with women from all walks of life, including those in marginalized communities.
Beyond social advocacy, she is an environmentalist and an ardent bird watcher, advocating for the conservation of avian species.
